PROJECT OVERVIEW
Coordinating Multiple Painting Scopes in an Active Construction Environment
DRL Coatings completed drywall finishing, interior painting, and exterior painting work for Sequoya Elementary in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
The project included approximately 5,000 SF of tape and bed work, 46,200 SF of CMU wall painting, coatings for steel railings and columns, and multiple exterior scopes including EIFS walls and soffits, fascia, gutters, and downspouts.
Because several trades were working simultaneously in the same areas, the project required constant coordination and careful sequencing to maintain productivity and keep the overall construction schedule on track.

THE CHALLENGE
Multiple Trades, Shared Work Areas
The primary challenge was maintaining a tight project schedule while multiple trades worked simultaneously in the same areas.
This required constant coordination to preserve crew productivity, access to work areas, and construction progress without creating delays for DRL Coatings or other contractors on site.
OUR SOLUTION
Coordinated Manpower & Scheduling
DRL Coatings utilized adequate manpower and closely coordinated daily activities with the other trades working on site.
Careful sequencing allowed the crews to move efficiently between interior and exterior scopes while avoiding interference with ongoing construction activities and maintaining the required project schedule.
THE RESULT
The project was successfully completed and delivered on schedule, with consistent, high-quality finishes throughout the completed work.
DRL Coatings successfully coordinated multiple exterior scopes—including EIFS, fascia, gutters, and downspouts—while completing the project with zero safety incidents.
